I always stop on the Desert because there is always something amazing to photograph. Hours, sometimes days before I even reach the Central Plateau I wonder what spectacle awaits. The whānau and I were traveling back from Auckland after attending the premiere of The Strength of Water which opened at the Film Festival. We stopped in Rotorua for the night as I had some work to deal with. All good, cold, but sweet.
The movie The Strength of Water had it’s NZ premiere in Auckland at the Civic and then Wellington at the Embassy. Written by Briar Grace-Smith and directed by Amargan Ballyntine this amazing movie was shot up in the Hokianga. I was lucky enough to be the stills photographer for the shoot. The best job I’ve ever had actually (-:
And traveling to the screenings here and in Australia has been a privilege and is partly why I’v spent so much time away from home lately. Travel = good.
The movie is due for release in NZ end of August. Not sure of the World wide release but will update. Or you could join The Strength of Water Facebook fan base here..
