Hangi is the best way to feed a huge crowd. Heat the stones (iron) for at least 2 hours of a huge fire. Take stones and all the ash out of the pit.  Return hot stones, place food and then cover with soaking wet cloth. Bury, making sure no dirt gets in the hole and no steam escapes through the dirt.
